Trial is over

July 25, 2008 at 12:12 pm | blabbing.

I got an email from someone who was on the jury trial with me, telling me the trial is over so I can go into my jury service a little more. I have also re-posted my snippets from the past couple of weeks. A surprising thing about my jury service is that I got paid…. Read more »

Energy Moon Shot

July 18, 2008 at 1:45 pm | blabbing, business.

Former vice president Al Gore has layed down “the green gauntlet” (kinda silly way to put it) to put America on the track to energy independence. I have been blabbing at people for years about this. Get a beer in me and ask me about energy, and I will spill out over the sides talking… Read more »

I have been on Jury Duty for the past couple of weeks but this morning that all came to an end. I was ushered into court by myself in front of the lawyers and asked, on the court record, if I was in fact blogging about this trial. Oops. While there is a stipulation that… Read more »

Its all about speed

July 12, 2008 at 8:04 am | blabbing.

Over the past couple of days we have gone through the witnesses pretty fast in the trial. There have been a few times where they have let us out early because they didn’t have any witnesses lined up and everybody finished early. I’m hoping this is a good thing and that it means that we… Read more »

Can you repeat that?

Besides nurturing my addiction to Sudoku on the muni and in between breaks, I am always interested in the witnesses in the trial. Today new witness is Sven (not his real name). I think the court reporter is having a tough time with all the accents. “hi ham the hief hengineer.”

if 5 minutes before

July 8, 2008 at 10:12 pm | blabbing.

In court the phrase “if 5 minutes before” is kinda retarded. It’s kinda like saying “if you knew the numbers that would win the lottery 5 minutes before, would you buy a ticket?”. Well of course you would. That is the most retarded thing ever. Every jackass who has ever stepped into a courtroom would… Read more »

don’t pick me

July 7, 2008 at 8:12 pm | blabbing.

Today I became a full fledged member of the suckers club. Previously I was just an alternate juror, but now I am one of the gang. Somebody shoot me. I guess somebody had a good excuse and was able to get the judge to let them go, so they chose randomly between the 4 alternates… Read more »

court reporters do matter

July 3, 2008 at 4:09 pm | blabbing.

An apology for Patrick Originally I said some things about the court reporters in my blog that were, well “idiotic”. I have never been one to shrug off good well aimed criticism, and Patrick one of the court reporters on my trial, well he had every right. I have no only taken off all the… Read more »

Jury Service

at 11:38 am | blabbing.

I have been selected (nice way of saying shanghaied) to be an alternate on a civil jury trial in San Francisco. The crazy thing is that this “trial” is that it will last something like 4 weeks. I’m not gonna go into the details on the site until afterward, but I will be spilling my… Read more »
